You search in a pile of opal mine tailings. You will find lots of geode remnants, and if you are lucky, you will find an opal. If you go, take your own bucket, hammer, digging claw and closed-toe shoes. The folks who own and operate the place are great. Salt of the earth people. Most of us didn't find any opals.
